Züri de Janeiro is the first rap album to combine Swiss dialect with Brazilian Portuguese throughout. On the 8-track work, the Zurich rapper Texter has collaborated with various artists from Rio de Janeiro and thus set a musical monument to his long-standing connection to the city on Sugarloaf Mountain.
The album was produced by LeOne, who has been working closely with Texter for many years. Züri de Janeiro is to be understood as modern boom-bap, which stands out from common hip-hop productions by a deliberately more musical touch. Samples were hardly used, and if they were, then interwoven with specially created sounds. Again and again there are sounds that only appear at one point in the song. In addition, various wind instruments were recorded live. So it is worthwhile to play the tracks several times.
In addition, sophisticated rhyme chains and entertaining storytelling guarantee a multilingual listening experience. In oldschool manner, scratches can be found on this album again. Executed as in the previous lyricist productions of DJ Showdown.
