Street art and graffiti in art classes

In seven easy-to-implement projects, students will learn the basic techniques for creating their own street art and graffiti.

Street art and graffiti are much more closely linked to the lives of students than other art forms and exert a great fascination on them. Young people are extremely enthusiastic about this topic. The aim of this book is, on the one hand, to familiarize students with the breadth of street art and its characteristics and, on the other hand, to provide them with tools to successfully implement their own ideas. The seven projects each have the same structure: First, a possible introduction to the topic is presented. In a development section, information on the respective form of street art or on specific artists is conveyed in the form of informational texts, image analyses, or worksheets. The focus is on the subsequent workshop section, in which practical work is guided by corresponding work assignments. The projects are concluded with colorful student works.

The topics:
Space Invaders: Invasion of the Mosaic Aliens | Swoon: Paste-Up! | Murals: Wall Paintings with a Message | Keith Haring: Art for Everyone | Graffiti: Step by Step to Style Writing | Banksy: Stencils/Stencil Graffiti | Sticker Bombing: Stickers Everywhere!
