Multidisciplinary artist Fuzi and designer Lucas Grassmay present their new project Seulement pour la vie, a magazine dedicated to contemporary tattooing. Each issue of SPLV is a slowing down, a pause from the daily grind, a privileged moment, shared with an artist using tattoo as a medium to express themself. The idea behind SPLV is to be a place of interaction between the tattoo and other artistic disciplines like photography, architecture, graphic design, graffiti, and more.
This first issue of SPLV features the work and universe of IVAN LE PAYS, a French artist who interprets the memories of the people he tattooes into abstract lines. The 72-page full-color magazine presents his tattoos on clients alongside their inspirations — which range from a Nepalian village lost on the Everest mountain to a mythic mall in a Parisian suburb — and creates a new dialogue around the relationship between the tattoo artist and the people he tattoos.
72 pages, A5, Text: French/English.
