Pablo Allison – Iraq Walls Graffiti Book
Iraq Walls by British-Mexican photographer Pablo Allison is a book that depicts the writing on the walls in Iraq. Such act of writing a moniker or a statement on a public or private surface tends to be considered as graffiti and belongs to a culture, mainly developed in New York City at the end of the 60’s.
Although not all spray marks documented in this book would be attributed as graffiti, they are done using the same tool - spray paint.
This book intends to showcase how such spray marks on the walls exist in a place which has hardly been touched by western graffiti writers, mainly due to Iraqs’s troublesome past.
