Boogiemonsters were an American rap group consisting of rappers Mondo McCann, Vex Da Vortex, Myntric and Yodared. New Yorkers Vex and Mondo met Jamaican-born brothers Yodared and Myntric at Virginia State University. The Boogiemonsters started rapping at shows on campus and after winning first place at Howard University's famous hip-hop convention, they recorded a demo and started selling it in New York. Pendulum/EMI signed the four MCs and released Riders of the Storm: The Underwater Album in 1993.
