Poster - Art in Prison by MALIK und NOTE
Surrounded by walls, gray blends into gray, and no matter where, concrete everywhere. In Lenzburg in the canton of Aargau, things are different: between autumn 2012 and spring 2014, well-known street artists from Switzerland created 4661 square meters of wall space in the prison there. A barren, cold concrete bunker was transformed into a lively and unique work of art.
MALIK, an artist with an elusive style, began his artistic journey as a teenager by spray-painting animals on railroad pillars before dropping out of art school in Bern because he couldn't learn anything new there. Today he is an internationally acclaimed artist, known for his unique wit and dark humor. Malik's works often surprise and only reveal their true depth at second glance - always with a wink.
As a trained graphic designer and long-time illustrator, NOTE has acquired a wide range of styles and techniques over the years. With curiosity and precision, he always tries to respond to the local identity and conditions in order to express them artistically.
Size of the posters: 59.3 x 42 cm.
