A side: «Barbarella» is a minimal but kicking, slow building tune with peculiar yet driving rhythms, heavy bass and a booker t & the mgs style keyboard melody swinging in there somewhere. the whistled refrain instantly sticks in one‘s mind and the guitar strumming over the break beat gives this tune a wicked rock kinda feel. this is something fresh!

B side: Bengston’s re-dub is a bombastic nu-skool breaks dance floor version, sure to rock the place. bengston is swiss producer and «ritmic» label owner with several internationally acclaimed break beat floor fillers to his name. rock on.

C side: This super funky hip hop take on barbarella is produced by sad with vocal support from baze, both high-flyers on the swiss hip hop scene, both involved with the notorious berne based chlyklass family.

C2: Sad remix instrumental.

D side: Barbarella b-edit by balduin is a beautiful mellow affair, with balduin’s typical dreamy, fantasy-game like melodies and wonderfully peculiar shuffled beats. balduin lives and works in berne, switzerland and has two albums and various singles out on the crippled dick hot wax label.

D2: «Soupa» by filewile. This one’s a heavy dub house tune. rolling out to move the floor and give the listeners a taste of the wide, dubwise sound of the city that surrounds us at night.
