Der Photograf ALEX FAKSO aus Milano / Italien hat kürzlich sein Buch HEAVY METAL herausgegeben, welches eines der besten und schönsten Graffiti Bücher der letzten Jahre ist. Fakso wird vielen sicherlich schon von seiner Website oder einigen Gastauftritten in diversen Magazinen (z.B. SUBWAYNET MAGAZINE) wegen seiner atmosphärischen Photografien rund ums Train-Writing bekannt sein.
Klarer Fall – das gute Stück ist ein Burner und ein absolutes MUSS für jeden Freund von farbigen Zügen und schönen Fotos. Vor ihm hat sich wohl kein europäischer Photograph so intensiv mit dem Phänomen des Zug- und Subwaygraffiti auseinandergesetzt und Licht, Schatten und Personen in ausdruckstarken Perspektiven so genial in Bilder einfängt.
Alex Faksos Buch ist durchweg schön und schlicht gestaltet, ist unterteilt in Photografien in Schwarz/Weiss und Farbe und kommt mit einem schönen dicken Hardcover so richtig edel daher. Die Photografien während der Aktion in Yards, Tunneln und Layups sowie vor der Aktion in Büschen und vor Mauern und Zäunen bringen die Atmosphäre originalgetreu rüber.
In the book HEAVY METAL, the Italian photographer Alex Fakso brings us behind the scenes of the secretive and low-down-glamorous world of European graffiti art, documenting the daily (and nightly) lives of that continent’s most celebrated street artists-spraycans in hand.
